In today's data-driven landscape, UNFPA Supply Chain is piloting a new and innovative approach to supply chain data management.
With recent funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, UNFPA is leading the way to a data-driven evolution over the next four years with the Supply Chain Analytics and Optimization Hub (SCOA). Over time, this new digital platform will improve SCM operations, from improved forecast accuracy to more efficient alignment of supply with demand, to real time tracking and visibility of where inventory and stock are at any given time, to management of orders with end to end visibility and coordinated response from the global, regional and country level supply chain community, to stronger decision making backed by evidence and knowledge.
The April 2025 launch of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Dashboard (Version 1.0) represents a pivotal first step for UNFPA in leveraging data for a more efficient and transparent supply chain. This initial pilot version offers tracking for procurement, cost recovery for sustainable growth, KPIs, and lead times, paving the way for future data-driven insights and decision-making.
“This successful launch of the Supply Chain Management Dashboard v1.0 and the attention it is generating both within UNFPA and with the donors and other stakeholders is a testament to the collective strengths of our operations and the immense potential we have to revolutionize our supply chain through data-driven insights,” said Srinivas Rajan, Quality Management Advisor, UNFPA Supply Chain Management Unit.
The ongoing collaboration between UNFPA and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation marks a significant stride towards a more efficient, resilient, and responsive supply chain and empowering women and girls worldwide to exercise their right to sexual and reproductive health services and supplies.
